Bruno Mars

    Peter Gene Hernandez known as Bruno Mars was born on October 8th, 1985.and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii to a musical family. Bruno was exposed to a diverse mix of music like reggae, hip-hop, R&B, and Rock.  Bruno performed songs by artists such as Michael Jackson, The Isley Brothers, and The Temptations. At the age of four, Bruno began performing five days a week with his family’s band, The Love Notes and became known on the island for his impersonation of Elvis Presley. In 1990, Mars was featured in as “Little Elvis”, and later appeared in a cameo role in the film in 1992.   In 2003 Bruno decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career. Bruno never went to college. Bruno Mars spoke with the San Diego Union-Tribune from a concert tour stop Seattle in June 9, 2011, and Bruno said, “Growing up in Hawaii made me the man I am. I used to do a lot of shows in Hawaii with my father’s band. Everybody in my family sings, everyone plays instruments… I’ve just been surrounded by it.”
         His parents were both involved in music. His mother was a hula dancer and his father played percussion. And at the age of two, he was nicknamed “Bruno” by his father, because of his resemblance to professional wrestler Bruno Sammartino. His mother Bernadette San Pedro Bayot was a singer and a dancer, and his father Peter Hernandez Bruno is a performed Little Richard rock and roll music, Bruno’s uncle was an Elvis impersonator, and also encouraged three-year-old Bruno to perform on stage with him.  Bruno now is 32 years old and he is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer, and a multi-instrumentalist. Bruno has 7 albums out since 2010, It’s Better If You Don’t Understand (2010), Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010), The Lost Planet (2010), The Grenade Sessions (2011), Earth To Mars (2011), Unorthodox Jukebox (2012) and 24k Magic (2016).
         Bruno’s songs “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade” both became worldwide #1 singles. According to Billboard Bruno’s hit “24K Magic” has sold more than 2.3 million tickets and overall revenue total was  $240 million so far from more than 2.3 million sold tickets since the tour launched in March 2017. Bruno recently toured in Asia and will remain on the continent through mid-May. With festival appearances booked in Europe this summer and a final sweep through North American arenas in the fall, his tour is set to wrap at the end of October. Bruno is soon going on another tour, called “The 24k Magic World Tour”  The tour starts on August 3rd, 2018 in Chicago and ends in his home city Honolulu on November 10th, 2018.
